The Nourishment and Renewal of Life
‘Nourishing Life’ is used a lot in the Chinese Medicine Classics and is based on the principle that true nourishment (where we are kept ‘vital’ and renewed on a daily basis) is something that can only come through how we live our lives -in this way, we keep a strong immune system, stay well and realise true well-being.
This is the first character – Yang, meaning to nourish. I’ve chosen to write it in cursive script which means the standard character is written mostly with a single brush stroke. This way it retains a movement and flow which I feel represents the nature of what true nourishment means….where the effects of something that is beneficial to us, literally permeates and flows through us without ceasing and therefore, renews us on a continual basis.
Acupuncture works together with appropriate exercise, good diet and other lifestyle practices to ensure the maintenance of balance, harmony and what is considered to be a ‘condition of wholeness’.
